Hello everyone. Welcome Back! These past few weeks my partners and I have been working on a super big project in class. We basically have to create and market a brand for a band/artist we create, with a song given by our teacher. We were given “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5 and we were so happy with that because we all loved that song. For the brainstorming part we all just gathered up as a group and gave out ideas.
In respect to the work, we divided it all amongst the 4 members. Aaron and Javier did the research and created the marketing campaign. Enrique and I took care of the music video and the editing. I mainly focused on the storyboard and taking charge in the brainstorming for the video. I think we have worked so well as a group. The communication has been perfect and we haven’t ran into any issues mainly because we created a group chat on Snapchat and have been texting on it every day.
One of the hardest parts of this project, in the group aspect, was to find a date and time that everyone would be available to film the music video. It was a struggle but we ended up leaving school early to film it. Luckily, our storyboard was spot on and we knew exactly what we had to do once we were there. It only took us about 50 minutes to film the whole video. To be honest, the hardest part has definitely been the selection of our band’s name. We spent a whole class day arguing what we should name it, but we ended up calling ourselves “Wildroots”.
Our next step is to edit the music video and we are all done. This project was an amazing way to gain some experience in moments I will have as an adult in a job. Throughout Highschool we mostly have projects that have one component in it. This is the second time in all of Highschool that I have done a project that has many components and I believe it will help me a lot in the long run.
