Music Marketing Project Part 2!!!!

WELCOME BACK!!!!!!

Final post about the music marketing project!

Aaron and Javier took care of the research, our hopes as a group was to include details in our case study that would assist viewers in better understanding our band and the message we were attempting to convey. We examined the marketing tactics and the ways that the most well-known music labels engage their fans. We were considering how to use this love song to both improve the world and reach out to individuals while we planned and discussed. As a group  we wanted to focus our band on helping save nature.

In our music video we tried using an extended metaphor. We wanted to compare the man that treats his girlfriend terribly to how people throw trash to the floor. Then, the main character (me) would pick her up from the floor, referring to people picking up the trash from the floor. I was helping the girl which compared to people helping nature. An important aspect of our production was to use sustainable clothing and instruments to spread our message.

I took care of the editing for the music video, I started off by putting all the videos in order. Then, I started to crop out portions that we didn't need. Syncing the song to the music video was by far the hardest part, I spent hours trying to perfectly time it. I believe I did a great job on it, I sent it to some family and friends to get their opinions and they loved it. We also got great feedback in class during our presentation.

The presentation couldn't have gone any better. We started off a little bit nervous but once we picked up some momentum we did amazing. Everyone was dying of laughter the whole time. At the end they started asking us questions and we answered them perfectly. Everyone was so surprised as to how we pulled it off and did such a great job. Once we were done everyone got up and started clapping. Additionally, on the peer reviews we got a lot of 100%.

Throughout the whole process of this project I learned that working as a team was truly the most important part. Our communication through our snapchat group chat was crucial. This is where we set up dates and talked about the project outside of school. Everyone did their part and it was executed perfectly. Some aspects that are going to help me tremendously while doing the Cambridge portfolio, is the ability to work as a team to get a huge project done. This has been the biggest project we have done so far and the biggest project of the year is coming up. This project taught us how to manage time better and improve in all the skills that go into a project, for example, editing, brainstorming, research, etc.
